Use only warm soap and water when cleaning the storage boxes. Use a hard wrung cloth and dry immediately with a soft dry cloth. The wood is treated with oil. If the surface of the wood dries out you might be able to restore its original glow using olive oil.

We already have a set of beautiful Hasamai porcelain bowls, so I decided to get some matching plates, but I was not optimistic that they would arrive on time. I ordered the plates late on the 20th, and had them in house two days later. He's delighted with the plates, I got to relax and enjoy Christmas, and I've discovered a wonderful new shop (EtL) that I'll definitely be visiting in the new year.
