The italian duo Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresin are the fantastic minds behind Studio Formafantasma. Originally educated in Eindhoven, they now operate from Amsterdam.
What impresses me the most is how their strength lies in bridging the gap between traditional craft and modern production methods; which leads to exciting and unexpected combinations of new and old materials. When you look closer you realise that archetypical objects and shapes are re-evaluated and combined with ancient techniques and materials. Their approach towards design makes makes me appreciate how each piece is extremely refined, rich in context and how every single detail is thought through with care.
