Lampe Gras N°215 L

Bernard-Albin Gras was one of the most innovative designers of the 20th century. His series of lamps for use in offices and industrial environments was designed in 1921, which he called the Lampe GRAS. It was groundbreaking in its simple and robust, yet ergonomic design.

There are no screws or welded joints to be found in its basic form. The functional esthetic of his lamps was truly original and far ahead of his time. Architect Le Corbusier was impressed and became one of Bernard-Albin Gras’s most enthusiastic supporters. Later on, artists like Matisse and Georges Braque used these lamps in their studios. Today, the Lampe GRAS is a true collector’s item.
