Artempo

An interior project where time becomes art. This spacious villa was designed by Marmol Radziner. So, it felt only fitting that we would use nothing but natural materials that would age uniquely over the years, creating their own particular patina to reveal their hidden beauty. Read on to discover an interior where natural materials contrast with midcentury-modern furniture.

"This building is a modern take on a mid-century house, so we wanted to design a contemporary interior with a link to mid-century architecture. The interior was tough, but still elegant and beautiful in its simplicity.” — Floris Koch, Head of Design

Natural simplicity

We gave natural materials centre-stage in this interior. Their subtle beauty and soft hues created the perfect backdrop.

As a general rule of thumb, try creating an interior that's not too trend-sensitive, but rather timeless: something to be enjoyed for years to come. We achieve this by combining natural materials with soft, earthy tones. We love creating spaces where the time in the material is visible, or will become over time. This is why we don’t over-treat materials, so that they can become pleasantly lived-in and, as time passes, they can tell stories of their own.
